US airborne M-42 jumpsuit

US airborne M-42 jumpsuit

Code: 10631

SOLD

A supurb US Airborne M-42 jumpsuit consisting of matching jacket and trousers. The jacket and trousers contain matching T-1940 serial (with the name "Torti" written inside the watch pocket) and still have matching wash tags attached so the trousers and jacket have always been togehter. They are in near mint condition with some storage staining. All press studs and zips work. The QM tag in the jacket is clearly legible, the one in the trousers is partly washed out. Some minor discolouration, rust staining and crinkling from sitting on a display dummy for over 20 years. The jacket is has been posing as a 82nd Airborne division jacket but was originally badged to the 13th airborne division on one shoulder and the XVIII Airborne Corps on the other while a 508th PIR badge was fitted to the pocket flap (so the wearer likely did first serve in the 82nd before moving to corps HQ). The rank insignia etc. are as originally fitted. The original stiching lines are still visible and the original badges will be supplied with the jacket so the new owner can decide to restore it back or leave it as it is currently.
