German Luftwaffe AFN/2 radio direction indicator

This is a German Luftwaffe AFN/2 radio direction indicator as used with different radio navigation systems including the FuG16zy. The instrument would be fitted to the Pilots instrument panel. The vertical needle would indicate left or right and would allow the pilot to align the aircraft towards a beacon or another aircraft; the horizontal needle would indicate the signal strength or range. In some systems (but not with the FuG16zy) a neon lamp could be fitted in the centre of the instrument that would flash when overflying certain radio beacon types. The instrument is in very good and servicable condition
