A US army air force Flux Gate Master compass indictor. This indicator was placed at the navigator's postion in the B-17 and other heavy bombers so that the magnetic variation could be dialled in. The pilot's slave indicator therefor always indicated true magnetic bearing. The compass indicator is in very good condition with a 1944 dated serial number.
